OPEN PUFF CAKE CAKE
I have so many favorite appetizer recipes, it is sometimes difficult to choose which one I will make for a party or family gathering.
I told you before, my family gathered on New Year's Eve for games and TONS of appetizers. Well, this spinach puff appetizer is one that's almost always part of the appetizer spread! My mother was the first to try it, and since then, we have succeeded repeatedly.
That's all you want from an appetizer! Cheese, savory, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside ... Basically, they are the best. You might have to double the recipe to make sure there is enough for all your party guests!
Believe me, this spinach puff disappears quickly!
HOW TO MAKE A BABY PUFF
CONTENT. Microwave your cream cheese for 10 seconds at a time until soft and melt but does not evaporate. Add eggs, oil, and butter to the cream cheese and stir until evenly mixed.
In a separate bowl, mix the spinach, feta, and meat. Pour your cream cheese mixture over and season with salt and pepper. Use a fork to mix and combine it.
Note: You can use frozen spinach. Be sure to expel excess fluid if not, the puff might become too soft.
PUFF PASTRY. Cut the pastry sheet into 9 squares. Line the muffin pan with your cut (you might need to stretch it a little). Press the bottom of the muffin cup. Divide the spinach evenly between the cups.
Bring together 4 points of your pastry, close the contents, and press together. A soft brush with melted butter.
BAKE, COOL, & SERVE. Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes until golden and swollen. Let it cool for 10 minutes then use a knife around the edge to loosen and help remove it.
In a mini muffin can: You must adjust the size of the cut pastry by cutting 18 squares instead of 9. if the directions are the same. Bake at 400 degrees F for 10-15 minutes.
Substitution/additives: I like this spinach puff, but the best thing is you can adjust it as you wish. For example, You can replace meat with diced ham or even diced mushrooms. You can replace feta with Ricotta or mozzarella.
MAKE THE PREVIOUS
The good news is that you can make spinach in advance, which will give you plenty of time to prepare the others first! You have several options to choose from:
You can make it up to 3 hours before. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator. Bake open at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes.
Just fill in: the filling can be made first and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days or in the freezer for 1-2 months. Melt, if present, assemble and bake according to instructions.
Frozen Freeze: Put as directed in the recipe directions except put it in the freezer, not in the oven. Let it freeze for 2-3 hours, then remove it from the muffin can and put it in an airtight container. Freeze for 1-2 months. When you are ready to grill, put the frozen puff back in the muffin tin. After that, bake with a temperature of 400 degrees F for about 27 minutes or until cooked.
Frozen Roast: After the puff is roasted, allow it to cool. Place the suction in an airtight freezer-safe container separating the layers with parchment paper. Freeze for 1-2 months. Reheat it in the oven before serving.
Very delicious and perfect for any party, gathering or vacation. 😉
